Rubber Stamp Meaning And Uses

3 July, 2024 (14:15) | Business Rubber Stamps, Custom Wood Mounted Stamps, Rubber Stamps | By: Mike

Sometimes rubber stamp means a device you can use to make a desired impression with ink on paper.

The types of devices and the kinds of impressions they can create, and even the types of surfaces other than paper on which rubber stamps can be used, range from glass and wood to fabric and leather. And as a premier rubber stamp making website we offer a way to help people do just that.

When you consider alpha-numeric custom band stamps, stock message rubber stamps, custom logo rubber stamps, address rubber stamps, self inking and pre inked stamps, custom and stock daters, and specialty ink kits, you are talking about just a scant few of the thousands of rubber stamping items we offer on our website.

Additionally, although rubber stamp means a handheld device for inking and imprinting a message or design on a surface, rubber stamp also has come to mean a person or organization that gives automatic approval or authorization to the decisions of others, without proper consideration. It is no surprise, when you think about this second meaning, that this other use of the word often refers to activities taking place in government and politics.

But here’s the thing, the real rubber stamps you’re interested in will certainly be available on our website, and we invite you to carefully consider the fact that we have over 16,000 5-star reviews, and will thereby rubber stamp our rubber stamp making site!

Rubber stamps can also be used for art projects, and in fact, even the very famous artist Andy Warhol used them like in the example here.

Warhol used handmade rubber stamps to create repeated patterns and symbols in his commercial work and in a few of his paintings. In the 1950s, numerous companies hired Warhol to illustrate their products, and his drawings often combined rubber stamping with a blotted line technique. The images on his rubber stamps included natural forms like birds, butterflies, fruit, stars, and flowers. The finished work contained texture and pattern and was filled with a playfulness that made the products more appealing. In 1955, Warhol worked on one of the shoe industry’s most sophisticated marketing campaigns when he became an illustrator for I. Miller & Sons shoes.

At the time, I. Miller was attempting to create a new image for itself and experimented with marketing strategies that used repetition to imprint its product on the consumers’ minds. Stamping allowed Warhol to quickly create a variety of illustrations along a similar theme. He could alter the color and composition of the artworks, giving his clients a selection from which to choose. The experiment was extremely successful, and Warhol became known in the industry as “the shoe person.”

Whether you are organizing work, or have decided to test the limits of creative expression, we have over 4000 products that can help!

Butcher And Meat Locker Stamps

15 May, 2024 (23:27) | Custom Wood Mounted Stamps, Customized Rubber Stamps, Rubber Stamps | By: Mike

If you are a carnivore you’ve certainly appreciated things like a thick, medium-rare prime rib from a place like The Homestead at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, even though that cow grazes now only in the memories of those who’ve passed by or gone in under its jurisdiction.

Some time ago, in a place called Milwaukee, I worked at an ad agency where Sally’s Steak House, a high-end little nook in the Knickerbocker Hotel was a short walk from where we worked, so lunch there was often Sally’s Special, a filet mignon smothered in haystack style onion rings, along with french onion soup, ice cold vodka martinis and so on.

These days I’ve been more prone to bison and elk, but all in all we should remember that our favorite cuts are the careful work of folks called butchers.

In the UK in 2003 during the development of the HS1 rail link a butchery site was found near Kent that dated back over 400,000 years ago. The skeleton of a prehistoric elephant, about twice the size of today’s African variety, was found with a variety of flint tools including some that were lodged in its ribcage. The flint tools were sharp and an ideal shape for cutting through flesh and hide, so it is accepted that this is a very early example of humans engaging in butchery for animal meat with specific tools.

In today’s world the tools of the trade for butchers everywhere should include a set of butcher or meat locker rubber stamps.

Butcher stamps, also known as meat locker stamps, are essential for identifying clearly the various cuts of meat to be sold, once those cuts are wrapped in the traditional butcher paper.  We provide butcher stamps in small and large format for a variety of meat cuts, such as loin, brisket and round, and for a wide range of meat types including beef, pork, poultry, fish and a large selection also for increasingly popular types of meat such as elk, bison and wild game types.

These top quality stamps are available in two distinct sizes. The Small size is set in 24 pt. font with 1/4″ characters and provides an impression up to 2″ wide. The Large versions offer a 32 pt. font, 5/16″ character size and provide an impression size up to 3″ wide.  In either size our butcher stamps make crisp, clean, bold impressions so meat processors can clearly identify, for fresh or frozen use, cuts such as chuck, rib, shoulder, flank and more.

Excellent working tools, our meat locker butcher stamps are perfect for supermarkets, butcher shops, deep freeze lockers or storage and processing plants. These durable, easy-to-use and long lasting stamps can be ordered as either self inking stamps, or wood mounted hand stamps for use with a separate pad, available as add-ons for the hand stamp selections.

So if you are clever with a cleaver, make sure you get set up with all the great impressions you want to make on the cuts you package, and that’s a wrap, if you’ll visit us soon…right here!

Rubber Stamp In Vertical Format

There are times when trying to design a rubber stamp can be straight up difficult, but those are times when you’ve gone to a website that doesn’t include all the great options we do on our rubber stamping site, RubberStampChamp.com! They say if mountains were smooth we couldn’t climb them, and so no matter what it takes, with rubber stamps and supplies, we always find a way to take you exactly where you want to go.

For example, while most rubber stamps have always been configured in mostly horizontal rectangular formats, at Rubber Stamp Champ you’ll find that we’ve incorporated ways to make your custom stamp in a vertical format, for folks whose art just naturally works that way!

This is not to mention the fact that we also offer customizable rubber stamps in square, round and oval formats, and in sizes up to 8×10 with two handles for stamping a big clear message on outgoing boxes, packages and so on…so when they say “go big or go home”, you can always go big!

When it comes to choosing the best custom vertical rubber stamp for your needs, the first thing you should consider is the difference between self-inking, pre-inked and manual stamps.

Self-inking and pre-inked stamps are a great choice for quick, simple stamping that will help you take your mind off your tools. Ability to be used for thousands of stamps, they will perform for years without fail, making them perfect for professional and personal use.

Traditional stamps require an ink pad, taking slightly more effort to use; however, they are typically able to be much larger and incorporate unique designs. We can help you customize yours with your ideal text and art for a professional and elegant look.

The History Of Rubber Stamps A Look Back In Time

4 March, 2023 (05:43) | Custom Rubber Stamps, Custom Wood Mounted Stamps, Rubber Stamps | By: Mike

At Rubber Stamp Champ we pride ourselves on having been in business for over 22 years. We also take pride in our 15,000 five star reviews, the 3000 rubber stamp and related products that we offer, and our huge repeat customer base that totals in the hundreds of thousands. In fact we make more rubber stamps online every day than any other stamp maker in America!

But where did it all begin?

Primitive stamps that existed long before rubber stamps were made are still produced by hand in other countries. Mud is used in India to make molds that are used directly as stamps. The mud images are painted with colored juice from fruit, flowers, bark, and other plant matter to create a colored image that can be stamped on fabric, paper, and products. Animal hide has also been used by some cultures. Detailed impressions can be cut in thick pieces of hide that are long lasting and resilient, like rubber.

There were two essential prerequisites for the origin of the rubber stamp. Rubber was discovered in the Amazon River Basin in 1736 by the French explorer Charles Marie de la Condamine. Cubes were made of the substance and used for rubbing out lead pencil marks, but the material was unstable—when the temperature rose, the cubes turned to jelly. This difficulty was solved in 1839 by Charles Goodyear.

Some years before, Goodyear had begun pondering this problem with rubber, and he was determined to solve it. By accident, he spilled a mixture of gum rubber and sulfur on a hot stove. The combination of sulfur as an accelerator and heat cured the rubber. Goodyear named his process vulcanization after the Roman god of fire. Vulcanized rubber was adaptable to thousands of uses, as Goodyear recognized when he patented his process in 1844.

Marking devices similar to rubber stamps but made of other materials were available in the early 1800s. By 1860, mechanical hand stamps made of metal were in common use. The actual inventor of the rubber stamp is a subject of controversy. L.F. Witherell of Knoxville, Illinois, claimed to have invented the rubber stamp in 1866 by having fixed rubber letters on the end of a bedpost for the purpose of marking the wooden pumps he manufactured with identifications. Unfortunately, Witherell never produced the landmark bedpost or other proof.

The vulcanizer was instrumental in helping the rubber stamp industry flourish.

James Orton Woodruff of New York borrowed the vulcanizer used by his uncle, a dentist. Rubber was used in dentistry to mold denture bases, and the small vulcanizers dentists operated were ideal for batch production of rubber stamps. Walnut mounts for Woodruffs stamps and items that have been printed with his stamps remain; the rubber stamps themselves were destroyed by ink that contained solvents.

At Rubber Stamp Champ we are not only the largest rubber stamp maker in America, but we are also the maker of large rubber stamps!

There are other claimants to the inventor of the rubber stamp, but Woodruff and Witherell have left the best stories, if not convincing evidence. By 1866, rubber stamp businesses were flourishing, and L.F.W. Dorman commercialized the process by manufacturing vulcanizers specifically for stamp makers. By 1892, there were 4,000 rubber stamp manufacturers and dealers in the United States.

Customize Rubber Stamps With My Logo

10 October, 2022 (19:53) | Custom Wood Mounted Stamps, Logo Rubber Stamps, Rubber Stamps | By: Mike

At the very basic level, logos are symbols made up of text and images that help us identify brands we like. But they can be so much more! A good logo is the cornerstone of your brand. It helps customers understand what you do, who you are and what you value. That’s a lot of responsibility on a tiny image! Here’s the definition of what a logo is and how to make the most of it.

At Rubber Stamp Champ we are happy to put your logo on a large variety of different types of stamps, just go on line and get started uploading your art, it’s fast and easy with our clear instructions!

A logo is a symbol made up of text and images that identifies a business. A good logo shows what a company does and what the brand values.

Logo design is all about creating the perfect visual brand mark for a company. Depending on the type a logo usually consists of a symbol or brand mark and a logotype, along with a tagline.

A logo makes you stand out from the competition

Perhaps the most fundamental function of a logo is giving your business a unique mark that differentiates you from other businesses.

This is especially important if your business has competition (which 99.9% of them do). Before you get a logo for your business you’ll want to research what your competitors’ look like so you can position yourself.

Of course, you don’t want to be so unusual that potential customers don’t understand your brand.

A logo identifies key information about your business

Your logo can be stamped on tags, packaging and more when you visit RubberStampChamp.com for a custom logo rubber stamp!

Along with demarcating your business, a logo also provides your customer with some crucial information about your company: it can communicate the industry you exist in, the service you provide, your target demographic and your brand values.

For example, a company might use circuit imagery into their logo to show that they operate in the software industry. Or they might use a specific color to communicate they are committed to being green/environmental.

A logo builds brand recognition

Logos also leave a visual impact that reminds your customers that, well… that you exist!

In other words, logos can create strong visual associations with a business. This association helps customers keep your brand in mind.

Think about brands like Nike or McDonalds, whose logos are so ubiquitous that they can be instantly recognized with or without the name attached. It’s no surprise that logos are such a central part of brand identity.
